FULL MOON IN AQUARIUS @29° 💫 CONJUCT JUPITER SUNDAY 22 AUG 2205 AEST
Today’s full moon is the 2nd Aquarian full moon in a row, making it a blue moon. Our previous full moon was in the early degrees of Aquarius and in aspect to restrictive Saturn, making it a harsher lunation. Today’s lunation is conjunct an optimistic and uplifting Jupiter, creating an all-together different experience.
A full moon conjunct Jupiter is a thing of beauty and a wonderfully uplifting aspect. It allows us to see/appreciate the things we DO have in these extremely trying times. Along with creating an-air of optimism and opportunity to expand ourselves, to raise our spirits, helping to find moments of joyousness in uncertain times.
2021 is hard, things are changing, and we are adapting, today’s lunation is a lovely moment in time to embrace theses changes and look for the opportunity to grow within these new parameters or limitations imposed by saturnian figures or situations.
We also have today; the Sun is in its last degree of Leo, finishing up its yearly transit in the sign it rules. Venus is now in Libra, another planet back home in its ruling sign; finally, Mercury is also strongly placed in Virgo also its ruling sign. We have some lovely planetary support at this full moon, making a dynamic skyscape.
Despite all the setbacks, the challenges, the restrictions; today is a wonderful opportunity to settle in and bask in the wonder, the opportunities and the lessons that have gotten us to THIS point in time. Having so many planets in rulership now is the time to bask in their glory and graces before we duck dive into the tail end of 2021 and it’s Astrological landscapes.
The Full Moon in Leo, brings to the spotlight the Aquarius / Leo axis. The polarity of the group and the individual, the performer/performance and the audience and leadership and community.
The Sun (and the ruler of this full moon), offers adulation and support; reflecting the receptiveness of your creations, ambition and leadership qualities at such time. The Moon’s fullness, in Leo, helps to receive this adoration and embodying it, at the very least, allowing you to to be able to see it, in some shape or form. This lunation allows you to see the power of the reception to the work you do. It also shows the importance of creativity and brave leadership.
The only curveball to manage, is that this full moon is hooking into the Uranus Mars energy, via T-square. This brings in an unknown quantum to this full moon, meaning the previously mentioned, may come from unexpected places or areas that you don’t initially expect. Or at a time, that you don’t feel ready to shine your light.
Also occurring at the time of this Full Moon, is the Sun-Jupiter cazimi. Jupiter is considered the great beneifc in astrology, and a planet considered lucky, optimistic, wise, well educated, which attracts opportunity. The Sun and Jupiter exactly conjoining at this Full Moon, is a strong force, in addition to the lunation. Jupiter is sending the message of hope or optimism, in whatever mountains your currently climbing.
When the Sun and Jupiter exactly join, their energy is fused and the Sun’s strength, creates a rebirthing of Jupiter, through the great fires of the Sun. This cazimi, begins a new synodic or transit cycle for Jupiter. Old experiences and lessons are burnt away, and new opportunities and lessons are able to be forged or created. A new Jupiter is being born within this lunation.
The third major aspect at this full moon, occurs in the sign next to, or in aversion to this busy Leo / Aquarius axis. Venus and Pluto conjoining today, in Capricorn. Venus Pluto create a difficult combo, realisations around controlling relationships and power dynamics might be difficult to un-see, at this time. This occurs in addition to the above, which essentially allows for greater ease to see where you may have been bound or obsesses with something, that affects your ability to progress up the ladder or enjoy life.
All of the above combining to make a busy and active Full Moon in Leo, expect the unexpected and don’t be surprised if the Pluto Venus aspect, throws some deep undertow, to what on the surface is quite lovely and expansive. All this occurs the day before Mercury stations retrograde, also in Aquarius. Meaning the above might be something we mull over for at least the next 2 – 3 weeks.
Its both confronting and surprising, this Full Moon in Leo, however, leaning into the fundamentals of the Leo / Aquarius axis outlined in the first two paragraphs, can assist greatly, in your navigation of this Full Moon.
Whilst not such a roller coaster and as intense as 2020, 2021 has its own signatures which will be more based around a the Saturn Uranus square which is beginning to form and stays with us for 2 years. 2021 is not as intensive as 2020; which saw a large amount of rare astrological aspects occurring within in one year; which really shook things up.
2021 will be more focusing in on some of the issues that 2020 threw up, without all the additional stress point added in, which makes 2021 less attack from all sides and more opportunity for good things to blossom from the ashes, whist still acknowledging and working to heal the open wounds that still might be raw from 2020. 2021 we must begin to tend to the scars, both old and new, with Uranus and Saturn challenging each other to be the dominate voice in this evolution past 2020. Honesty over avoidance might be the breakthrough you need, to move towards resolution.
La Luna’s shift into Cancer, her ruling sign marks many milestones and is a poignant end to the remarkable and one in a lifetime astrology of 2020. As I sit and watch her rise and compose my words, by candlelight, at her ingress into Cancer, it’s quite something to try and articulate. As Luna comes to her annual Cancer full moon on the final days of 2020, its very apparent the dramatic shift, away from the stresses and pressure that have been applying to her over the past three years; with the fresh sense of a new fertile space beginning to reveal.
Luna in Cancer, this time around is lighter and the space created by three years of Saturnian pressure and its weight on Luna whist transiting Cancer, is very apparent. This is the first full moon in Cancer or any moon cycle in Cancer, without Saturn being in opposition of, since December 2017. As she rises in front of me, in her first cycle sans Saturn, the weights previously imposed and the spaces created, is quite something to absorb and process. This is the full moon, in which the extent of this long term pressure finally reveals itself.
Saturn is hard on the moon as their intentions and purposes are opposite in technique, aims and what they are trying to achieve. Both planets being strong due to their rulership meant every cancer moon for the past three years was imposed with the burdens, constrictions, restrictions and judgements of Saturn’s cold harsh rays. Cancer lunations were heavier and more burdensome. It is at this lunation we begin to see the strengths and our hard-earnt achievements since, Saturn’s ingress into Capricorn, Dec 2017. Other observations might be a new form of softness, especially around things that used to have a harder edge. Calling it an emotional slog is an understatement. If you have inner planets or angles on the Cardinal axis of Capricorn, Cancer, Libra or Aries, you would have felt this much more.
This lunation is also the first lunation after the recent eclipse series, on the Gemini and Sagittarius axis. The solar eclipse on 15thDecember 2020 being particularly harsh and potent. I don’t know many people who weren’t touched by its intensity and dramatic overtones. Having a nourishing full moon such as this one, to close out the eclipse season helps to reconcile some of the difficult things that may have been thrown up during this eclipse season, as well as feeling like the cosmic hug we needed.
So, as we round out 2020 and experience its closing as well as getting our strong dignified Cancer Moon’s back, this really feels like the perfect antidote in washing way 2020 and all the trauma, allowing us to re-centre and recharge emotionally after what can only be described as a life changing year. Paying attention to tending to ourselves and our communities, and focusing on care, mothering and nourishment as we enter 2021 seems like the perfect astrological hint, to help guide us into a new and very different world for 2021.
November 30th (AEDT) sees the second full moon in a calendar month, often referred too as a blue moon. Blue moons are actually relatively common, more common than most of the large-scale planetary alignments of 2020.
This Full Moon is also a Lunar eclipse, opening our eclipse season on the new Gemini / Sagittarius axis which began in Gemini season earlier this year.
The Lunar eclipse of 30 November, as it’s a penumbral lunar eclipse, only a shadow will hit the moon, rather than the regalia of a total lunar eclipse. However, astrologically and magically, an eclipse is still an eclipse. Although not as visually spectacular as the 26 May 2021 Total Lunar Eclipse, this eclipse still has a bit bite, thanks to the conjunction of 2 of the 4 royal fixed stars.
The Sun conjoins Antares and the full Moon conjoins Aldebaran, for this eclipse, giving it a very volatile and aggressive mars like quality. Both Antares and Aldebaran are out for conquest. As these alignments are on an eclipse axis, there is a blurring or shadowing effect.
Things are very much not as they seem. Unseen actions and power moves are at play, so drawing down this energy is potentially problematic. This is not a full moon to be playing with, unless you like to bring unexpected power plays into your life.
Resting and staying hydrated during the actual eclipse is recommended along with keeping a low profile. Eclipse can be blind spots or quickening of events, having Antares and Aldebaran being brought into the mix, gives this eclipse some real fire power.
Re-entering the eclipse season of 2020, it seems appropriate to have such potent points activated as we begin the wrapping up of 2020. Watch this space, and be mindful of what you choose to do with this energy.

Mercury, in the first week of November completes it retrograde cycle, by stationing direct in late Libra and goes back into Scorpio. The Astrological weather for October is choppy to say the least, with the upcoming Mercury retrograde in Scorpio, coinciding with its ruler, Mars also being retrograde in Aries. These retrogrades are along side some rather challenging lunation’s this month, so strong precaution is advised; for both how you use this energy and what battles you decide to take on. October is a month where caution and self care will stand in good stead. Pushing forwards with activities and intentions that feel like they are an uphill battle, or a struggling to get up and running, most likely need more time to develop and nurture.
The Month opens on October 1st/2nd, with a full moon in Aries making it a potentially hostile lunation due to its increasing proximity to Mars. The following day (October 2nd/3rd) may present some hostility or aggression being exhibited, as emotions (the Moon) may spill over or become abrasive and hostile (Mars) as the two finally conjoin.
The New Moon in Libra on October 16th also finds itself in a rather difficult situation, as it is opposed by Mars and squared by both Saturn and Pluto. Following the familiar terrain of other plants who have run the gauntlet through the late cardinal degrees in recent months. Having the luminaries (The Sun and Moon) as the meat or protein in a Malefic sandwich, we have all established is no fun, and definitely NOT the kind of energy you want to be manifesting or drawing down your life long dreams from.
Overall, its a month to sit tight in and navigate the choppy weather through awareness and self care. October is one of the more trickier months in 2020, so proceed with care and know once we have moved past October, we will be beginning to near the end of the Cardinal Crush. Meaning, the planetary energies will begin to separate slight and not challenge each other so much. If you have any major planets (Sun, Moon, Ascendant especially) in Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn, know that we are almost at the end of some once in a life time astrology. You have got this !

Today’s Full Moon at 10 ° Pisces a lovely distraction from the ongoing Cardinal Crush, of which Venus has now been drawn into thanks to her current square and opposition to Mars and Saturn. The Full Moon helps us as it is off axis and away from the constant difficulties that occur when Luna or any other planets traverses any of the cardinal signs of Libra, Capricorn, Cancer, and Aries.
The Moon’s function at the Full Moon is to reflect and embody what is reflected to her, when she is full Luna is at her greatest capacity to reflect and draw down on what she is receiving. Since Venus and Jupiter are now caught up with the rough baggage involved with Mars and Saturn it’s the Full Moon in Pisces that gives us the greatest ability to find comfort and nourishment amongst all the tension that currently surrounds us. Venus who is usually looked to for additional support, is feeling the pinch in her current position, meaning emotions may run high for become unblocked with the Full Moon, helping to unblock any pent up or difficult feelings.
The Full Moon also makes a gentle sextile to Uranus who retrograding at 10° of Taurus and is also a sign that the Moon finds its exaltation. This gentle sextile to a planet which is known for its innovations, break-thoughts and rebellious qualities gives opportunity for the Moon to present a surprising break-through with regards to food or emotional self-care. Sextiles are aspects that give a nice little opportunity without breakdown the doors of realisation like the current Venus Saturn Mars aspects. Uranus being retrograde also indicates these innovations may come through reflection or re-assements around emotions, wellbeing, food and body health and awareness, giving a nice undercurrent to the harsher cycles which are also currently at play.
Once the Full Moon has been completed and Luna wanders through the rest of Pisces it is there, she meets up with Neptune at 19° Pisces who is opposite the winged messenger Mercury or Hermes at 23° Virgo. Mercury and Neptune opposing is amazing for creative communications, communication through dreams or other forms of communication with or through the ethers.
All this is offering a much-needed reprieve and opportunity to distract from the other affairs that are dominating the current skyscapes. The Full Moon is an opportunity for reprieve, gentle insights with the potential for great emotional release to help cleanse and clear any emotional baggage, which we have slowly been collecting and building up through 2020.
