VENUS TRANSIT OF PISCES

6th April 2022 – 3rd May 2022

Today Venus shifts into watery Pisces, enhancing her natural strengths; as well as helping to activate the much-heralded Jupiter Neptune conjunction in Pisces, which is growing ever closer by the day. Today Venus finally gets to rejoice in the familiar and welcoming waters of Pisces after a long 6 months.

Venus hasn’t had much support since mid-September 2021, due in part to her extended retrograde cycle in Capricorn over the summer. This Venus retrograde peaked with her conjunctions to Pluto, a notorious underworld figure who likes dredging up the darker sides of life and relationships.

After her elongated transit through Capricorn, her entry into Aquarius saw her sharing space with Saturn and Mars. Mars who had been conjoining Venus on and off through Capricorn gave Venus more teeth and motivation to surrender to Mars’ desires, she was very much at Mars’ call due to his strength in Capricorn. Venus’ transit through Aquarius was hardly a walk in the park. She was besieged / trapped between Mars and Saturn for some of it, creating an incredibly stressful terrain for her to navigate.

So, today’s ingress into Pisces is a bit of a win for Venus after a difficult 6 months. Usually she moves quicker through the signs, so these delays and difficulties don’t usually last as long. Since mid-September 2021 Venus had to deal with the endless depths and challenges, thanks to her interactions with Pluto, Mars and Saturn, Venus had to put aside her usual priorities as she focused on stressful and difficult relationships.

Venus now gets to swim in her exalted waters of Pisces until May 3rd when she moves into the fiery and Mars ruled sign of Aries. Venus this time around in Pisces gets extra pleasure and strength points, thanks to Jupiter the ruler of Pisces also being co-present in Pisces. April is a wonderful month to enjoy people, places, pleasure, art, music, creativity, spirituality the list feels endless. It’s been a difficult 6 months for Venus and April is the month where she gets to indulge in all the fruits of her labour, and she is finally allowed to enjoy the things she adores in a supported manner. Enjoy, this only comes around every 12 years. Savour every moment of it.

THE VENUS RETROGRADE THROUGH CAPRICORN 2021/2022

On 19th December we begin the journey of Venus’s retrogradation through the sign of Capricorn, continuing a story or making progress from when Venus was last retrograde in Capricorn (21 December 2013 – 31 January 2014). Venus retrograde’s every 2 years, in different signs for a 40-day / 40 night period. Every 8 years she repeats signs. Each retrograde cycle Venus physically disappears from our sky’s and does her much fabled underworld journey. Reappearing as a morning star as Venus completes her journey through the underworld where Hades / Pluto resides.

We experience Venus, when retrograde as a revisitation, re-assessment, re – evaluations, new insights and readjustments to Venusian topics. Venus governs over relationships, pleasure, values, desire, possession’s, aesthetics and beauty to name a few. While Venus is retrograde these topics are more in-focus or the desire to be more aligned is unavoidable. Its time to deal with the stuff. The sign and house in which Venus is retrograde through, helps tells us what this story might be for the individual.

2021/2022’s retrograde cycle is in the cardinal earth sign of Capricorn. Capricorn is a sign which Venus has no essential dignity in and is a sign which grounds Venus bringing her back to more simple and earthly pleasures. Capricorn is more dynamic than mainstream astrology gives it credit for as it has a wonderful ability to holds space for the material, practical, creative and spiritual aspects of life simultaneously. Capricorn is dynamic and supportive, it initiate’s and helps to contain the strong virtues and possession’s Venus likes to acquire. In Capricorn, Venus may appear a bit more dressed down, but that doesn’t take away from her desires.

Pluto is a key player for Venus this retrograde cycle, as Venus and Pluto hold strong aspects through the entire cycle. Venus stations retrograde on Pluto which puts her in aspect to him for a month, rather than the usual two or three days. Venus then carries this powerful plutonic energy with her as she does her underworld journey, stations direct and with these new insights or discovery’s bringing them back to Pluto in the first week of March 2021. She presents to Pluto / Hades the fruits of the retrograde cycle, along with her new found discoveries or initiations from the realms he rules over.

Pluto isn’t the easiest of planetary energies to be working with and has a strong focus on power, control, hidden dynamics, wealth and things that have been buried or suppressed creating a real pandora’s box situation. This particular Venus retrograde cycle is very much about unearthing hidden dynamics and uncovering power plays or control dynamics in the areas of life Capricorn rules in your chart. This isn’t easy stuff that this particular retrograde is throwing up but by looking back to the 2013 – 2014 retrograde that you might find some clues.

In summary Pluto will be bringing an intensification to this retrograde cycle with topics or issues that may have been tucked away or not noticed before; being brought front and centre. Pluto has many hidden pathways and there might be moments of feeling lost or buried by some of pathways that present during this cycle.

Pluto, Venus and Capricorn all represent great wealth in various ways so there is value in really engaging this process, there is gold that will be mined and there are gems to be gleaned from this process. Engagement and working with anything that gets brought up is vital for this retrograde cycle to allow for safe travels through these plutonian realms. Ignore it at your own peril, as Pluto will never go unanswered.

2021/2022’s retrograde cycle might be a bit dirtier and a bit more work than other Venus retrograde cycles but the potential for it to clear out and detoxify things that are dead or of no value anymore makes this particular cycle extremely potent. This is a very rare dance that Pluto and Venus are doing over the next few months but one that will be ripe for some big personal alchemy. This is not a cosmetic exercise and new depths and understanding of the self is intimidating as Venus Pluto aspects are some of the most powerful cycles that astrology can offer us. What makes this cycle so unique, is the length of time they spend influencing each other for this particular Venus Retrograde cycle and that is where the magic lies.

January 2021 Monthly Horoscopes

Whilst not such a roller coaster and as intense as 2020, 2021 has its own signatures which will be more based around a the Saturn Uranus square which is beginning to form and stays with us for 2 years. 2021 is not as intensive as 2020; which saw a large amount of rare astrological aspects occurring within in one year; which really shook things up.

2021 will be more focusing in on some of the issues that 2020 threw up, without all the additional stress point added in, which makes 2021 less attack from all sides and more opportunity for good things to blossom from the ashes, whist still acknowledging and working to heal the open wounds that still might be raw from 2020. 2021 we must begin to tend to the scars, both old and new, with Uranus and Saturn challenging each other to be the dominate voice in this evolution past 2020. This is the large brushstrokes of 2021, But first lets start with January xx



ARIES / ARIES RISING 

Your ruler Mars moves out of Aries on the 7thof January. Marking the end of a monumental 6 months. Be proud of what you have achieved over the past 6 months, it’s time to stop and smell the roses, for a bit.  The New Moon conjunct Pluto begins a new career cycle, where facing your fears and letting go of control mechanism helps in the long game. Mars and Uranus present some unpredictability when they conjoin in your money sector. Keep an eye on your cash, in January as its possible money either comes or goes in unpredictable ways.

TAURUS / TAURUS RISING

Mars moves out of your subconscious sector after 6 months of cutting through knots and trying to confront deeply entrenched ‘blocks’ that were holding you back. Mars’ entry into your image and vitality sector offers a boost of energy. Early January is unpredictable, as Mars conjoins Uranus. Don’t over-do things. Mercury enters its retrograde shadow, late in January. As your ruler, this effect’s you more than most. The new moon conjunct Pluto in your external resources sector, may see you confront any fears or helps evolved your relationship to sources of external resources. Venus helps smooth this over by offering help and opportunity as you work through these new moon realisations.

CANCER / CANCER RISING

Your relationship sector is activated in January, with a new moon conjunct Pluto. This helps to evolve connections to your relationships. Facing fears around any specific relationship situations, is part of it. Venus helps by smooth any difficult transitions this new moon may throw up, by offering support and opportunity. Mercury begins its shadow period of your external resource’s. Beginning the process of re-evaluation around how you use and engage with resources supplied by others.

LEO / LEO RISING

A full moon in your image, health and vitality sector helps you to be seen in good stead by other, helping your relationships, this full moon helps to illuminate you reflecting, how others value you, for just being you.  The new moon conjunct Pluto askes that you put down your fears around any routines that don’t support your vitality and health, offering ways to move past things that hold you back and help creating strong and positive daily routines and making the most of the tools you have at hand. VIRGO / VIRGO RISING

A new moon conjunct Pluto in your income and financial house is a great opportunity to start a new financial cycle, bringing out any fears or regrets from the past and addressing them once and for all.  Mars moving signs helps restore some balance and gives a helping hand in powering through any to do lists or things that have been on the back burner for too long. 

CAPRICORN / CAPRICORN RISING 

A new moon in your first house conjunct Pluto, puts the spotlight firmly on as a strong change agent. Your coming in to your own after an overly pressurized 2.5 years. Mercury enters its shadow in your financial sector by months end. Be watchful on all income and expenditure. Re-evaluations around your income sector begins stirring, as well as knowing your worth.

AQUARIUS / AQUARIUS RISING 

A beautiful full moon this month luminates you and your relationships with others, don’t shy away from opportunities to mingle or relish the kind words. Mercury begins its retrograde shadow, which indicates some reassessment or re-evaluating about yourself and your external presentation. Uranus and Mars meeting in your home and family sector could cause some unexpected fireworks. Try not to be dragged into any un-necessary drama in January, as the ignition is there.

PISCES / PISCES RISING

The New Moon conjunct Pluto might see some control or fear mongering within community groups or networks. Pluto likes to confront the dark side of things, so it might be a heavier New Moon phase than you would like or are used too. Mars moving out of your financial house after 6 months of stress and irritability is of huge relief. The path forward with finances will be less intense and more manageable. Mars and Uranus conjoining in your local surroundings or sibling’s area of your chart, may bring up some unexpected tension within your local surroundings or with siblings. Be mindful. Manage it accordingly, knowing adding more fuel to the fire will generate a lot more spark and heat that initially expected, due to Uranus’ unpredictable nature. Honesty over avoidance might be the breakthrough you need, to move towards resolution.
