The astrological landscape of May 2021, offers up some friendly sky’s for the first three weeks of May. The much heralded transit of Jupiter into Pisces begins, showing us the direction of 2022’s astrological highlight might present to take us, with its 2 month preview this May – July. Venus back in her home sign of Taurus for the first 9 days of May warms this space, before she hands over to Jupiters ingress to Pisces, middle of the month. The eclipse season begins at month’s end. Eclipse season is pushing for both innovation in the Gemini sector of your chart, whilst encouraging release and a letting go of the Sagittarius sector of your chart. MARS TRANSIT OF GEMINI 2021

MARS IN GEMINI 2021

4 March – 24 April 2021 AEDT

Today Mars enters Gemini, after an elongated transit of Taurus; the sign of Mars detriment.  Mars entered Taurus, at the moment “That Bull Guy” image; symbolic to the Capital Hill riots was blazoned across the world media. Having this transit line up with such a striking image after such an epic retrograde phase in 2020, was something that only emphasised the potential trickiness of this Mars in Taurus phase, we are now exiting.  Longer than usual, it’s been a tough slog from early January until now. Things have been slower than usual to get up and running along with a resistance to big energetic pushes, or things just required way more motivation than usual. Slow and steady took over from big pushes, which essentially impeded Mars ability to do anything really constructive, as Mars likes fast rigorous action. 

Today with Mars shifting into Gemini, Mars is in a much better space to be able to use his skills and dynamism.  Gemini is a much more dynamic and changeable sign in comparison to the fixed earth of Taurus. Gemini is naturally more aligned to Mars nature and curiosities.  This stimulation of Mars allows for more momentum, traction and progress after a tedious transit of Taurus and retrograde phase in 2020. In short, Mars in Gemini will give strength and vigour to the mind.

Also, at the time of this ingress of Mars into Gemini, Mercury will be conjoining Jupiter for its final conjunction to Mercury in Aquarius. The Ruler of this Mars transit is blessed with the final integration of this three-hit conjunction of Mercury / Jupiter. Having Mercury / Jupiter meet for the third time, allows for information, a way forward, a new plan, new optimism or a new path forwards after a difficult or confusing January / February 2021. 

Having Mercury leave the final stages of its retrograde, along with its connection with Jupiter is extremely helpful and positive for Mars as he enters Gemini. Finally after 12 months we have a Mars making for more positive aspects to Saturn in-particular, allowing for more supportive Mars. Something that has been missing over the last 12 months, as the wrecking ball of Covid 19 began to hit our lives.

Today marks, what potentially we were seeking when we started 2021, by offering us a clearer path forwards, providing the energy and motivation after a difficult and frustrating first two months of the Year. Today we begin to see a more positive Mars influence, which has been missing from our lives over the past 12 months, as Mars begins to set a new pace and a new tone, which is now informed and guided by Jupiter’s influence on Mercury.  Today Mars, gets some of his spunk and swagger back. xx

MERCURY RETROGRADE IN AQUARIUS 

(31 JAN – 21 FEB 2021 AEDT)

27˚– 11˚ of Aquarius 

Mercury begins its Retrograde phase as January closes and is our first Mercury Rx phase of the year. 2021 delivers us a year of Mercury’s retrogradation in the Air signs, making these retrograde period’s stronger, thanks to Mercury’s elemental strength in Air.

Aquarius is an Air sign, fixed in its mode. Making it a sign whose strength lies in its stability and focused nature. Air signs have a great ability to detach and separate themselves from situations, providing an objective ability, helping to problem solve situations at hand, without out an overly emotional, passionate or overly stuck bias. As one of the humanist signs, Aquarius, is more focused on people and collaboration.

Saturn, Mercury’s ruler, for this retrograde is also co-present. This assists with focusing on creating systems or structures which help people or collaboration; through consolidating efforts through systems. Its through collaboration and systems we can help get to the heart of these Aquarian ideals. This retrograde, helps to re-evaluate these collaborations.

February 2021 is an unusual month, due to the amount of planets in the sign of Aquarius. February sees 6 planets in the one sign of Aquarius. The last time a stellium of planets conjoined in Aquarius like this was February 1962. With so much energy concentrated in Aquarius at this retrograde, it doubles down on the significations of Aquarius, and really knuckles down into the Aquarian elements of your chart and areas of life that Aquarius represents. So do pay attention, to what comes up. 

So, what happens when Mercury, the planet of communication, commerce, trade, ideas, problem-solving goes retrograde in a sign which is so heavily focused on others? There is an overly concentrated focus on, re-vision, re-evaluation, re-assessment and re-looking at relating to people, collaboration and community.  We now look to how to evolve these interactions with others, so it’s more mutually beneficial. The Aquarian ability to a detach to help innovate, also helps this Mercury Rx process of Re-looking and re-evaluation of things, as passions and emotions are more easily put to the side, as we look to a more objectively as what needs to change or be re-moulded.

Mercury; during its retrogradation conjoins Saturn its ruler once, which is when Mercury potentially finds the problem, it needs to solve. Mercury then meets with Jupiter, three times during this cycle, which is where we find opportunity or are able to look for solutions that have a positive and more lasting effect. Watch this space over the next 3 – 4 weeks and know the outcome to any tricky situations that present, will come, and maybe more positive than initially anticipated.

This particular Retrograde, is very strong, thanks to the 6 planet pile up in Aquarius at the time of the Rx. If you have planets in Aquarius, you haven’t had this much concentrated energy on your natal planets, unless you are born before 1962.  The Rx gives a strong current or undertow allowing for some really ingenious problem-solving at this time, if something challenging does pop up, do be optimistic, that Jupiter’s role will help deliver a positive outcome or resolution by the end of this cycle. It just might not be what you expect.

Mercury Retrograde: Through the signs

Aquarius / Aquarius Rising:

The physical body, as well as how you present to the world, what you represent and how you are received by others is strongly in focus. You’re very much the star of the show, and what you hold dear, might become the focus for others as well. 

Pisces / Pisces Rising:

The sub-conscious, soul sector or relationship to the unknown or hidden realms is heavily emphasised for you at this time. New connection to or new information is presented, which helps create a dialogue to or with retreat, isolation or soul work. 

Aries /Aries Rising:

New innovations are given new life with relation to friendship groups, community and social networks. New intel, allows you to be more effective in collaboration, cementing your position in the community.

Taurus / Taurus Rising:

January 2021 Monthly Horoscopes

Whilst not such a roller coaster and as intense as 2020, 2021 has its own signatures which will be more based around a the Saturn Uranus square which is beginning to form and stays with us for 2 years. 2021 is not as intensive as 2020; which saw a large amount of rare astrological aspects occurring within in one year; which really shook things up.

2021 will be more focusing in on some of the issues that 2020 threw up, without all the additional stress point added in, which makes 2021 less attack from all sides and more opportunity for good things to blossom from the ashes, whist still acknowledging and working to heal the open wounds that still might be raw from 2020. 2021 we must begin to tend to the scars, both old and new, with Uranus and Saturn challenging each other to be the dominate voice in this evolution past 2020. This is the large brushstrokes of 2021, But first lets start with January xx



ARIES / ARIES RISING 

Your ruler Mars moves out of Aries on the 7thof January. Marking the end of a monumental 6 months. Be proud of what you have achieved over the past 6 months, it’s time to stop and smell the roses, for a bit.  The New Moon conjunct Pluto begins a new career cycle, where facing your fears and letting go of control mechanism helps in the long game. Mars moving out of your financial house after 6 months of stress and irritability is of huge relief. The path forward with finances will be less intense and more manageable. Mars and Uranus conjoining in your local surroundings or sibling’s area of your chart, may bring up some unexpected tension within your local surroundings or with siblings. Be mindful. Manage it accordingly, knowing adding more fuel to the fire will generate a lot more spark and heat that initially expected, due to Uranus’ unpredictable nature.
